the information that is available from the romney/ryan campaign it is not possible to cut tax rates as much as you'd like without eliminating deductions that may hurt the middle cla. specifically, you can't do this without changing rules on capital gains taxes, dividend taxes and the romney campaign has said they will not do that. you cannot cut taxes and keep the middle class deductions and can't cut taxes and keep lower rates on capital gains. now the romney campaign has said, look, we would work with the congress. we would -- we can't tell you what exactly it would look like because we'll work with the congress but the tax policy center says it can't be done. given what we know, it can't be done. the second claim, let's talk about the auto bailout, fight begun this on the campaign trail. vice president biden made the case that romney would let detroit go bankrupt. listen. >> we knew we had to act for the middle class. we immediately went out and rescued general motors. we went ahead and made sure that we cut taxes for the middle class, and in addition to that, when that occurred what, did romne

and how the romney-ryan team will turn things around. what he has to be careful about is to make sure that whatever he says is going to be in sync with the top of the ticket because some of ryan's positions have been slightly refuted by mitt romney who has made it clear that he is at the top of the ticket and it is going to be his policies that will rule. for vice president biden, he has to whip up the enthusiasm. he also will be trying to make sure voters know that president obama has accomplished something in the past four years. he will try to spell it out just as he did at the democratic convention. and biden will have to be careful not to make one of his famous gaffs. >> he is a great debater on the senate floor but has been known to make a few boo boos for lack of a better word. >> reporter: well, certainly as reporters will be looking forward to whatever he has to say.
